FAQ

Common questions from job seekers

These answers cover the application flow, screening expectations, and the pages candidates use most often while applying through Zipang, including the remote job board, CV submission, application guides, and screening research. Employers can review hiring resources and client insights.

How do I apply for a job on Zipang?

You can apply from the job page through your candidate account, or send your CV directly when the role supports direct recruiter review. Both paths land in the same screening pipeline; the difference is whether you also want a candidate profile to track status, applications, and onboarding documents in one place.

Do I need a full candidate account before I can be reviewed?

Not always. Some roles allow direct CV submission first, while others work better through a candidate profile so screening, quizzes, and updates stay connected. We recommend registering a profile if you are considering more than one role, or if you want to be considered for future openings without reapplying.

What kinds of roles are listed on Zipang?

The public job board focuses on remote roles for Indonesian talent across customer support, data entry, admin, operations, sales, QA, and related functions. Roles are typically full-time remote from Indonesia with overlap into US, UK, AU, or SG business hours; some are contract or part-time depending on the client program.

How long does screening usually take?

It varies by role, but Zipang is built to help recruiters move from CV intake into screening and follow-up more quickly than a disconnected application process. Typical end-to-end: 3–10 business days for early stages (CV + first English screen), 7–14 days for role-specific quiz + structured interview, and 14–30 days for paid trial onboarding. The 5-gate funnel typically lands a candidate in the production cohort within 30 days of application.

Can I apply to more than one job?

Yes. You can browse multiple roles and apply where your background is a strong fit. We discourage blanket applications to every opening; targeted applications with role-specific CVs and work examples pass screening at materially higher rates than generic submissions.

How does Zipang handle my applicant data?

Applicant data is used to review fit, process applications, and support screening workflows. The full data handling policy, retention windows, and your rights as an applicant are documented on the privacy page. In short: PII is redacted in client-facing views, screening results are shared only with the role's hiring team, and you can request deletion of your profile at any time.

What is the 5-gate screening funnel?

It is Zipang's structured five-stage recruitment process. Gate 1 is a CV relevance scan (20–30% pass). Gate 2 is an asynchronous English and SOP-comprehension screening (40–55% pass). Gate 3 is a role-specific quiz scored against a frozen answer key (50–60% pass). Gate 4 is a structured STAR or work-sample interview (65–75% pass). Gate 5 is a paid trial task scored against the client's actual KPI (75–85% pass). End-to-end, 6–12% of applicants reach the production cohort. See /methodology for the full rubric and pass rates.

What is the 30/90-day replacement guarantee?

It is a contractual buyer protection on every Zipang program. For 30 days after a candidate enters production, the buyer can request a free replacement if the candidate's sustained gold-set accuracy falls below the contract floor for two consecutive weeks, or if a defined escalation event occurs. For 90 days, the buyer can request a free replacement on non-performance grounds: throughput below the agreed SLA, repeated QA flags, or shift-coverage failure. Replacement operators are pulled from the active shortlist pool fed by the same 5-gate funnel; the buyer does not pay for the replacement cycle.

Is there a fee to apply or to join the talent pool?

No. Applying to a job, joining the talent pool via /submit-cv, and going through screening are free for candidates. Zipang is paid by the client company that hires through the platform; the candidate is never charged an application fee, screening fee, or onboarding fee. If a recruiter asks you to pay to be considered for a role, it is not a Zipang recruiter.

How do I verify a Zipang email or recruiter is real?

All Zipang recruiter emails come from @zipang.id. Recruiters will never ask for payment, bank login, or your full KTP number via chat. If you are unsure, forward the message to hello@zipang.id and we will confirm whether the thread is legitimate. See /articles/spot-legit-remote-jobs-indonesia for the full verification checklist.

Can I work remotely from anywhere in Indonesia?

Yes, as long as you have a stable fiber internet connection, a quiet workspace, and the ability to overlap the client's business hours. Many Zipang operators are based in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Medan, and Denpasar, but the platform is open to candidates in any Indonesian city. The main constraint is reliable power and connectivity; we do not place candidates who cannot meet the client's uptime SLA.

Does Zipang help with taxes and BPJS?

If you are placed as an employee through the EOR track, Zipang handles PPh 21 withholding and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan + BPJS Kesehatan enrollment on your behalf; you see the net pay in your local bank account. If you are placed as an independent contractor (rare, only for specific roles), you are responsible for your own taxes; the platform provides an invoice template and quarterly summary that you can hand to your tax advisor.
